Not alot of motorcycling going on lately

We’ve been pretty busy listing and selling our house lately, so I haven’t done much in the way of motorcycling–other than the Kawi-kommute four days last week (did the bicycle yesterday because I was feeling fat–not working out at the gym either). My co-worker quit and had her last day yesterday, too, so there have been lots of changes going on in my life. Fortunately home and family remain relatively normal–aside from starting to look for a new home.

I’ve been on Craigslist a fair amount…but mostly looking at houses. I did find a really cool Yamaha XS750 triple. I could easily see owning this thing for a long time. Totally classic bike with lots of power and style–at an awesome price. Maybe I should sell the Kawi and buy it. Then again, maybe I’ll just sell both and get that KTM 950/990 Adventure–especially if we end up in the country with property.

Anyway, here’s the bike:

1978 Yamaha XS750

New rear tire, Newer front, New Battery, New oil / filter, New fork seals, New fuse box, Refinished wheels, Polished side covers, 26,500 original miles. Everything works as it should, and it runs / rides great! Truly hard to find a bike of this vintage in this nice of original condition.

Got out for an hour on Speedie after writing the first part. Just a quick trip around Mt. Washington Drive, OB Riley Road, Johnson Road and Shevlin Park Road. I wasn’t going too nuts, just out for a nice little ride on a nice bike.

Wife is hosting her friends for a movie night, kids are in bed and I’m–you guessed it–surfing Craiglist. Found a couple of cool Triumphs on Portland’s Craigslist–one of them is actually here in Bend. The first is a 2001 Triumph Bonneville. Take a look.

2001 Triumph Bonneville

6700 Miles, Excellent Condition – Mechanically and Cosmetically, Garage kept on battery tender, Many upgrades, All original parts go with the bike, $6,000.00 or best offer.

Nice Bonnie, eh? Take a look at this Scambler, though. Picture sucks, but I’ve always liked these. I’ve wanted one for years–literally. If it were in Red instead of Blue, I’d need to go visit. 🙂

2006 Triumph Scrambler

THIS SCRAMBLER HAS ONLY 2009 MILES ON IT. IT IS NICELY EQUIPPED WITH WINDSHIELD, BASHPLATE, TACHOMETER AND AN EXTRA SET OF SPORT MUFFLERS! UP TO DATE ON SERVICE AND WITH PLENTY THREAD LEFT ON THE TIRES.

I hate it when they do all caps like that, but if you manage to read it, it does sound like a good deal on a really cool bike. One day…
