DRZ and the Monster both gone

The darn concussion. I kept pushing and pushing until finally on that last ride on the Monster, I managed to totally set myself back again symptom-wise. That over the river and through the woods ride turned out to be the last of 2013. I parked the bikes–both of them–and didn’t ride anymore. Then I sold the DRZ in early November.

After selling the Dizzer, I put the Monster on CraigsList. About the same time, I listed a buddy’s bike on CraigsList for him. After some chatting, we ended up just swapping bikes. He came to collect the Monster back in December and it’s been a bit of beastie for him since then–continually making a mess on his garage floor. Nobody said Monsters were nice.

So what did I end up with? My buddy’s bike, of course. A low-mile Yamaha 2008 WR250R dual sport. It’s basically been hooked up to a battery tender in the corner of the shop since I got it, so no cool pics yet. Plus…like I said earlier, I haven’t been riding (which sucks because it’s totally dual sport riding weather as I type this–temps have been in the 50s, no snow, sun shining…). Here’s a nice shot Eric took while we were out for a ride, though.

As far as the head goes, it seems to be getting better, but I don’t know for sure. I took a couple weeks off for brain rest (though I’m not doing well with that at the moment) over the the holidays. Tomorrow and the weekend will be the end of that, then it’s back to work next Monday.
