First ride of 2014

Had my first two rides on the WR last weekend. Both were short–think I went a grand total of 32 miles over Saturday and Sunday. Still, this was the first ride for me in three months. It really felt great to be on a bike again and the WR made things easy for me.

Both rides ended up being mostly pavement although I did go on a couple of county-maintained dirt roads on Sunday. The bike handled great–really the little bit of dirt I took it on was practically new pavement compared to the road I live a half mile up.

I had enough riding between the two days to start getting a feel for the bikes acceleration and stopping capabilities. Also rode standing up for a bit. It’s great in all those areas for what it is and actually feels pretty quick for a 250. My only gripe is clutch engagement which comes in right at the very end of the clutch lever travel. Already felt like I was getting used to that by the end of the second ride, though. From what I understand it’s a common complaint on the the little Yammie.
