I'm not fickle…but I put the T-Bird back up on Craigslist

March 8, 2009

The T-Bird is back on Cragslist. I made an offer on that Ural and then had to retract it. Oh yeah, and my job got cut 20%. Motorcycle life is going to take a back seat to just trying to live, I guess. In theory, the guy with the Sprint ST is buying the T-Bird next weekend. I’ll believe it when I see it, but he seems pretty into it.

Took the T-Brid off Craigslist again

February 13, 2009

Not sure I could be any more fickle about motorcycles. Got an email from a guy who wanted to swap a newer Triumph Sprint ST for my T-Bird (of course he wanted some cash, too). Got to emailing him back and forth and the next thing I know, I’m back into the T-Bird. I pulled the front forks, got the seals done, and bought fork boots to protect them. Everything is currently sitting in my garage–waiting for me to put it all back together.

Still have the T-Bird and my 36th birthday came and went

January 27, 2009

Celebrated my 36th anniversary of entering this world over the past weekend–with a bit more celebrating yesterday (and likely even more today or tomorrow). Nothing really motorcycle-related for presents aside from the balaclava my buddy bought. Wish I’d had that earlier this month when I was out riding the Kawi around and look forward to riding in the winter with my chin warm for a change.

It's snowing, so I guess it's officially winter

Jan 2, 2009

I Craiglisted the T-Bird (for sale or trade). Had a few people offer some interesting trades, but nothing ground-shaking. The best so far has been an 02 Ducati Supersport Dark. I’d probably swap for that if it worked out, but trades are odd things. I think most people are like me–just fishing and not really sure what they want to do. It occurred to me that a cool website would make it easier to swap things by matching up what you have with what others want. Maybe in another life, eh?

Winter's almost here now

December 7, 2008

So much happened since that last post…well maybe not that much. I did go on a couple of longer rides (6-7 hours), but never could shake the more power/different bike bug. I started posting the BabyStrada on Craigslist and the next thing you know–it’s sold. Didn’t even make the Chowder Run this year–my buddy’s Moto Guzzi crapped out on us not 20 miles from home. At least we weren’t 200 miles from home when it happened. Anyway, the Duc was history the very next weekend. I didn’t even wait a week before driving a rental down to Medford and picking up the replacement.
